A few years back, I posted a blog on Green Lakes, one of my favorite places on the planet. Last week, I walked around the main lake with my wife. Going over the main trail, you can hear fish splash in the lake, see birds sputtering from one branch to another, smell the undergrowth and the wood burning in hearths of nearby cabins.
They’re doing a bit of renovation there now, and it all seems to be in an ecofriendly way. Trees that fell near the lake are being used as boarders to the trails.
I’ll probably be back again this summer to fish for trout or at least walk the trails. One thing I’ll miss, however, will be dining at the club house, by the golf course, which is under renovation.
